Overview
Pet Emergency Center-Skagit Valley (PEC) is seeking an experienced Associate ER Veterinarian to join our community-owned and operated 24-hour emergency hospital. This is a night-shift position, with full-time status based on two 12-hour shifts per week.
This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who is confident in emergency medicine, surgery, and critical care, and who wants to practice high-quality medicine with a skilled, compassionate, and deeply committed team.

Requirements
The doctor team at Pet Emergency Center provides high-quality urgent and emergent care for small animal patients. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a fast-paced caseload, performing surgery, overseeing hospitalized patients, and working closely with a skilled nursing team.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients
- Performing emergency surgery and urgent procedures as indicated
- Managing hospitalized, unstable, and critical patients
- Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients
- Partnering with licensed veterinary technicians and support staff to provide efficient and thoughtful veterinary care
- Maintaining complete and timely medical records
- Supporting a positive hospital culture built on teamwork, trust, accountability, and continuous quality improvement
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Active Washington State veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Strong emergency medicine skills
- Surgical competency
- Critical care case management experience
- Excellent client communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a skilled technical team
- Commitment to high clinical standards, teamwork, and compassionate care
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base compensation: $218,000 plus production
- CE, licensing, and professional reimbursement allowance
- Company Health Insurance plan, with premiums paid 100% by PEC
