Description
Seeking a Part-time Occupational Therapist to provide services for administering evaluations and creation of treatments plans for orthopedic based clientele. In addition, provide various treatment techniques such as therapeutic modalities, ROM, strengthening, sensory re-education and desensitization. As a treating therapist, you will also be responsible in supervision of a COTA and therapy technician during the management of your caseload. Orthotic fabrication preferred but not a requirement. Experienced Hand Therapists at the facility are willing and able to train in splinting /orthotics skills to assist in the development of these skill sets for fabrication and application of custom and non-custom orthotics for specialized orthopedic conditions per referring physicians as a Licensed Occupational or Hand Therapist.

Name of Facility: Reconstructive Center of Houston, P.A. Therapy Center
Type of Facility: Out-patient orthopedic facility located in the museum district just east of the heart of the medical center. Our facility has two orthopedic surgeons, an Ambulatory Surgical Center and Out-patient therapy center with one Certified Hand therapist, one Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, one Physical/Certified Hand Therapist and one Physical Therapy Assistant. In addition, we have five therapy technicians and two front desk personnel one check-in and one insurance specialist. The therapy center specializes in providing services to upper and lower orthopedic related extremity injuries and conditions for adult and/or pediatric populations. In addition, as mentioned above, our therapists design and fabricate specially diagnosis based orthotics for protective wear or to provide mobilization to stiff joints/healing tendons.
Requirements
Qualifications:
* Requires a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate’s Degree
* Licensed as an OTR by TBOTE or have a temporary license to practice in the state of
Texas
* Experience in upper extremity orthopedics preferred but not required,
* Ability to demonstrate competency and a basic knowledge of age, specific criteria in
the patient population served.
*CPR certification required
